Just an updated HP MediaSmart Server that a small network storage appliance that runs on Windows Home Server has started. There are a number of improvements, but the great thing is that Time Machine in Mac OS friendly and mostly friendly, although you still need a PC to configure. It is good to know if you’re a Mac-only person. This is not, this new version allows you to store data online using the Amazon S3 service. This is a bit high on the user’s wish list. I bet that more online services will be available in the future. The hardware was also updated: MediaSmart Server running on a Celeron 2.0Ghz with 2GB RAM. This makes it fast enough to stream music files on the fly you convert your music over the Web. The older model is not able to do that, even with a software update. We still play with the new smart media, but keep your eyes open for inspection.
